Lippe Career Compass

Professional Development and Coaching: People discussing career-related topics and work processes.

Your next career move starts here.

Would you like to start a new career, re-enter the workforce after a break, or find out which job suits your skills and interests? The Lippe Career Compass helps you identify your career options, develop new perspectives, and take concrete steps toward employment.

Perhaps you’ve already completed vocational training, a degree program, or have professional experience, but aren’t yet sure how best to apply your skills in the job market. You may lack practical experience, direct contact with employers, or a clear career path. Even if you’re rethinking your current career goals or want to explore new paths, the Lippe Career Compass offers personalized support.

Together with you, we'll develop a career path that aligns with your personal circumstances, skills, and goals.

Identify Your Strengths and Set Career Goals

We start by asking what skills and experience you already have and what opportunities they open up. Together, we’ll review your past experiences, your skills, and your career interests. This isn’t just about your existing qualifications, but also about the personal strengths and competencies that are important for employment.

Based on this, we’ll work together to develop realistic career goals and explore which jobs, career fields, or employment opportunities might be right for you. If your original career goal doesn’t align with your current situation, we’ll work out possible alternatives.

The Lippe Career Compass helps you better assess your options, prepare for decisions, and develop a concrete plan for your future career path.

Here's what you can expect from the Lippe Career Compass

This program combines career guidance, practical assistance with job searches, and personalized support. You will work toward your career goals and receive support as you take the next steps toward employment.

Career Guidance and Skills Assessment

You’ll explore your skills, interests, and past experiences. Together, we’ll assess your competencies and develop suitable career prospects. In doing so, we’ll also consider alternative roles and new opportunities.

Job Application Training and Job Search Assistance

We’ll help you put together a strong application package and prepare for job interviews. Together, we’ll work out how you can present your qualifications and strengths in a compelling way. In addition, we’ll support you in your active job search and in reaching out to potential employers.

Direct Contact with Employers

The transition into employment is often easier when you establish direct contacts with companies. That’s why we use our network to help you meet suitable employers and explore career opportunities. Our network includes, among others, businesses, chambers of commerce, associations, and other counseling and support organizations.

Workplace Language Training

If language barriers make it difficult to enter the workforce, job-specific language training can help you further develop your language skills for everyday work situations.

Assistance with the Recognition of Foreign Qualifications

Did you complete your vocational training or earn your professional certification abroad? We can assist you with questions regarding the recognition of foreign qualifications and help you explore the opportunities this may open up for your professional future.

Work Experience: Getting to Know Different Fields and Companies

Career guidance doesn't just happen at a desk. That's why the Lippe Career Compass also offers insights into various career fields and workplace processes.

Through field trips and company visits, you’ll get to know companies and potential career paths firsthand. You’ll gain an understanding of the requirements for various professions and which work environments might suit your interests.

In addition, a work placement of up to four weeks is available. This will allow you to get to know a company and its day-to-day operations firsthand and gain practical experience. You’ll gain a realistic insight into potential job roles and be better able to assess whether a particular career field is a good fit for you.

Work experience can also help you apply your existing knowledge, try out new skills, and build connections with potential employers.

Personalized One-on-One Coaching – Time for Your Personal Questions

In addition to the group sessions, you will receive regular one-on-one coaching sessions. These sessions focus on your individual situation, your professional challenges, and your personal questions.

Together, we'll discuss your progress, address any open questions, and develop concrete next steps. This may involve exploring career alternatives, job application strategies, the recognition of qualifications, or reaching out to employers.

Individual coaching provides a space to address personal concerns and further develop your career path in a targeted manner. This allows the content of the group program to be tailored to your personal situation.

Who is the Lippe Career Compass intended for?

The Lippe Career Compass is designed for people seeking support as they enter the workforce, return to work, or explore new career paths.

This offer may be particularly suitable for you if you:

  • are looking for a job and would like to explore your career options,
  • want to re-enter the workforce after a career break,
  • already have vocational training, a college degree, or professional experience,
  • would like to apply your knowledge and skills in a more targeted way,
  • want to explore new career fields and gain practical experience,
  • need help with job applications and interviews,
  • would like to improve your career prospects by building connections with employers,
  • Have questions about the recognition of foreign credentials.

The key is to work together to identify which career opportunities are a good fit for your situation and which steps will bring you closer to your goal.

Duration and Terms of the Offer

The Lippe Career Compass program lasts up to twelve weeks and takes place five days a week on a part-time basis. The program combines group work with supplemental one-on-one coaching.

Depending on individual needs, the focus varies: from career guidance and skills assessment to job application preparation, active job search, and on-the-job training.

You can participate in a practical internship at a company for up to four weeks. This will allow you to compare your career aspirations with the demands of everyday work and gain new experiences.

Your Next Step Toward Employment

The goal of the Lippe Career Compass is to work with you to develop a viable career path. By the end of the program, you should know what opportunities are available to you and what specific steps make sense to take next.

We'll help you showcase your skills, connect with suitable employers, and improve your chances of finding a job. Ideally, this path will lead directly to a position that matches your skills and career goals.

Funding and Cost Coverage

The Lippe Career Compass is offered on behalf of the Lippe Job Center. If approved by the relevant Employment Agency or the Job Center, the costs may be covered by an Activation and Placement Voucher (AVGS).

Please check with your designated contact person before you begin to determine whether funding is available in your specific case.

We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, enhanced privacy mode does not necessarily prevent the sharing of data with YouTube partners. Thus, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video.

As soon as you play a YouTube video on this website, a connection is established with YouTube’s servers. This informs the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your browsing activity directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

In addition, YouTube may store various cookies on your device after you start playing a video. YouTube uses these cookies to collect information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to track video statistics, improve the user experience, and prevent fraud. The cookies remain on your device until you delete them.

In some cases, after a YouTube video starts playing, additional data processing operations may be triggered over which we have no control.

We use YouTube to ensure that our online offerings are presented in an appealing manner. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. If consent has been requested (e.g., consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR; consent may be revoked at any time.
